Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service Platform for you.

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using our Service Platform, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

• Full name
• Phone number (OTP-verified)
• Email address (optional)
• Gender
• Current address
• Date of birth (where required for verification)
• Work/vehicle details (for driver-partners)
• Driver documents and identity verification materials (for driver-partners): citizenship ID (front/back), driving license, vehicle registration, vehicle photo, owner's name & contact (if applicable), a selfie for identity verification
• Family members' names (only if you voluntarily provide them for a feature that requires it)

Usage Data

We may also collect information that your device or browser sends whenever you visit or use the Service Platform ("Usage Data"), including:

• Device Data: IP address, device type, browser type and version, operating system, unique device identifiers, App version, pages/screens visited, timestamps, and diagnostic data.
• App Usage & Trip Logs: ride IDs, timestamps, pickup/drop-off locations, distance traveled, fare, OTP confirmation events, and other trip metadata.
• Transaction Information: payment method used, transaction timestamps, amounts charged, commission/fee records, and any promo/referral associations.
• Safari Balance: wallet transaction metadata (funding source, verification status, usage for commission), but we do not store full bank/card details on our systems.

Location Data

• Location data (service seekers): collected when the Safari Yatri app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) to display pricing, estimate arrival, and match drivers.
• Location data (service providers): precise or approximate location data is collected from driver-partners' devices if they enable the 'Online' status in the Driver App. This data may be collected while the app runs in the foreground or background and is used to send trip requests based on proximity, provide navigation, and let passengers view driver location during trips.

Tracking & Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (beacons, tags, scripts) to track activity on the Service Platform and hold certain information (session cookies, preference cookies, security cookies, analytics cookies). You can instruct your browser or device to refuse cookies, but some features may not work if cookies are disabled.

Use of Data

Safari Yatri uses the collected data for various purposes:

• To create, verify, and manage accounts.
• To match passengers with driver-partners and enable trip assignments.
• To provide navigation, routing, and estimated arrival (e.g., via Google Maps).
• To generate and validate OTPs and other security flows.
• To process payments, commissions, Safari Balance funding/usage, and refunds.
• To deliver customer care and support, investigate incidents, and adjudicate disputes.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity.
• To monitor and improve the Service Platform using analytics and crash reporting.
• To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations (for example, retaining records for statutory periods).

Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located in Nepal. If you are located outside Nepal and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data to Nepal and process it there.

By submitting information, you consent to such transfer. Safari Yatri will take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy before any transfer to another organization or country.

Disclosure of Data

Legal Requirements & Safety

Safari Yatri may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

• To comply with a legal obligation or court order.
• To protect and defend the rights or property of Safari Yatri.
• To prevent, detect, or investigate wrongdoing or threats to public safety.
• To protect the personal safety of users of the Service Platform or the public.
• To protect against legal liability.

Between Ride-Partners

• Driver-partners will receive necessary passenger details (name, phone number, pickup/drop-off locations, optionally profile photo) to complete a trip.
• Passengers will receive driver details (name, vehicle make/model, license plate, phone number, optional driver photo) and may view live driver location while a trip is in progress.

Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third-party providers to facilitate our Service Platform (e.g., mapping, analytics, crash reporting, payment processing). These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform their functions and are contractually required not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Client Third-Party Contractors

Third-party contractors assisting a client's work request may also have access to data necessary for that work. Those contractors are obliged not to misuse data; however, Safari Yatri is not liable for misuse by a client's third-party provider who breaches their agreement.

Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us. We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your Personal Data, including:

• Industry-standard encryption for stored sensitive information and secure cloud infrastructure (e.g., Firebase).
• Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel who are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Regular security reviews, monitoring, and incident response procedures.

Third-Party Service Providers & Analytics

We use third-party services to operate and improve the Service Platform. Examples include:

• Google Maps (navigation and routing)
• Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (analytics, crash reporting)
• Payment processors for handling financial transactions

Links to Other Sites

Our Service Platform may contain links to sites and services not operated by Safari Yatri. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party sites.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. For material changes we will also notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Service Platform before the change becomes effective.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes are effective when posted.
